Quote of the Week

Odd as I am sure it will appear to some, I can think of no better form of personal involvement in the cure of the environment than that of gardening. A person who is growing a garden, if he is growing it organically, is improving a piece of the world. He is producing something to eat, which makes him somewhat independent of the grocery business, but he is also enlarging, for himself, the meaning of food and the pleasure of eating.

My Favorite Parade

Can't wait to watch the Rose Parade, today. This is my favorite parade and not to mention, my New Years tradition. The creativity behind the floats is truly out of this world! The time that's put into making them is also impressive and not to mention the array of colors the flowers provide, keeps this parade as my number one.

With the parade's theme being "Echoes of Success," I'm highly anticipating some really unique and poignant floats.

Do you watch the parade every year? What's your favorite thing about the parade?

A New Year

Happy New Year! I hope your holiday season was very festive, as you spent time with family and friends.

Quote of the Week

Reading about nature is fine, but if a person walks in the woods and listens carefully, he can learn more than what is in books, for they speak with the voice of God. George Washington Carver

Look

Found a few garlic sprouts in the garden...glad to see them, since I planted late and really haven't been watering them anyways.

Hey

Hey, it's been a minute since I've been here and it's been a minute since I've done any real work outside. What have you been up to, lately?

The last thing I planted was some garlic, but let me tell you a little secret...I'm afraid they might not grow or rot because I've been so inconsistent with watering and it doesn't help that the southeastern states are in a drought.

So, once again....what have you been up to, lately?
