Natural Hair Styles | Cute Curly Faux Bantu Knot Out | Flexi Perm Rod | ...

What do you think? I really like it a lot. Comb coiling the hair and then rolling it on rods has never been a thought of mine. I'm more a two strand twist kinda woman and then maybe add the rods, but I've never thought of this at all....it's cute, but I wonder how long does it take to do?

Would you take the time to do this to your hair or would you leave it up to a stylist?

It really is a toss up for me....I could see myself trying it out, but I could most definitely see myself going to a stylist for this look too.

I'm Back and Ready to Work

Back from my unofficial break, I've been extremely busy these last few weeks of May because of end of the year school activities, my youngest daughter, Jordan made the Honor Roll and had an awesome school year, and oh yeah my baby boy, Myles graduated from 5th grade. He's on his way to middle school; I'm so excited, but a little sad too....I have no more elementary school children.

I would post a picture of him and all things graduation, but I'm still debating about posting my children's pictures on this blog.  Granted, I'll probably have some pictures of them from time to time, but like I said, I'm still trying to figure out, how much I'm willing to share. So, I hope you understand my feelings and don't hold it against me, that I don't share a lot of photos of my kids or myself even, I lean toward being a lot more private than some bloggers.

Hopefully, I can keep you entertained, as we Grow together!

Boredom

Just sitting here waiting for this workshop to begin, I actually got here an hour early. The event is suppose to start at 1 p.m.(well registration starts)and when I went to the sign up table, the young man told me to comeback closer to 1 p.m..

I'm so bored, I tried walking around a little bit,but I'm already bored with that....don't get me wrong, there's some interesting items on display, but I really don't want to be at this event today.

Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for a fantastic workshop/seminar. I hope I actually learn something really new and interesting(if that even makes sense), but most of all....I hope this isn't one of those seminars where they want to stretch out their workshops and people end up paying large membership fees to be in the group. Paying membership fees really doesn't bother me;it's the fact that people aren't honest about it in the first place.

Well, I'm going to stop rambling and continue to walk around to let time pass, and I'll try to enjoy myself too.

I'll think about gardening with my kids as I walk around, that always puts a smile on my face.

Women, Farming and Art

Yesterday as I turned through my Oprah magazine, I noticed a small article about a woman named Marji Guyler-Alaniz, she's the photographer and  founder of the website farmher.com.  She wanted to photograph the strength of the women on farms and the beauty of working the land.  In my opinion, she has done a fantastic job turning everyday farm life into a work of art.

I'm not a woman farmer, but I am a home gardener and even though my little hobby isn't on the scale of what these women farmers do on a daily basis, I feel that I can relate to these women. These women know that their job isn't fancy, but know the importance of their job as a whole to their families and community. Even though, I'm not providing food or goods and services to a whole community or nation, I help provide some fresh fruits and veggies to our family table, and believe me....it's hard work, but oh so worth it!

Working the land is hard work, and isn't really a vocation that you find many women jumping into, so for that reason alone, I think I've found a new site to support and follow.

Hello Birdie

I rarely get to snap a photo of a bird sitting on my front porch,so this was truly exciting because they always seem to fly off before I can take a picture. This bird stayed for quite sometime and chilled out a bit. Hope to catch some other birds over the spring.
P.S. Sorry for the not so clean looking window.
